There is a preponderance of infrastructure realignment, restructuring and down-sizing in the business community – a constant adjustment to maximize cost efficiency and minimize inefficient, redundant practices and staffing.  There is also an adjunct responsibility by management to avoid investor and stockholder perceptions of short sided business practices and failure to structure long term value and return on investment.


Personnel driven and personnel associated costs are in the forefront of this scrutiny and is the leading indicator in formulating perception(s) of infrastructure efficiency, cost containment and investor preference.

Additionally, management must be acutely aware of the conditions affecting the socio-economic “complexion” of those comprising their workforce.  These conditions directly relate to the quality, performance and stability of the workforce.  Therefore, policies and procedures must be in place to accommodate compliance and other employee assistance strategies and programs.

These are not matters of “fluff” or social “feel good” endeavors – these are matters of more correctly managing costs associated with “personnel dysfunction”, diminishment of performance, and associated costs of elevating productivity and litigation.  These are situations arising from, both, internal and external cause and effect.
